Electrochemical Chloride Extraction
Electrochemical Chloride Extraction is an advanced corrosion mitigation technique designed to remove harmful chloride ions from reinforced concrete. Chlorides, often introduced through marine exposure, cause severe steel reinforcement corrosion, leading to structural damage.
ECE works by applying an external electrical current that safely draws chlorides away from the steel, restoring the protective environment within the concrete, and enticing re-passivation of the reinforcement. This mostly non-invasive, cost-effective solution is ideal for extending the life of bridges, marine infrastructure, industrial plants, and other chloride-affected assets.

Electrochemical Realkalisation
Electrochemical Realkalisation is a restorative process that neutralises carbonation in concrete and reinstates its natural alkalinity, essential for protecting embedded steel reinforcement. Over time, exposure to atmospheric CO₂ lowers the pH of concrete, and when this effect reaches the steel reinforcement corrosion may occur.
Realkalisation involves applying an electric field with an alkaline electrolyte to restore pH levels, halt corrosion, and extend the structure's lifespan. This method is efficient, minimally disruptive, and suitable for a wide range of buildings, heritage structures, and civil infrastructure affected by carbonation.

Cathodic Protection
Cathodic Protection is a proven, long-term corrosion control system for reinforced concrete and steel structures. It works by redirecting corrosion currents away from steel reinforcement using either an external power source (Impressed Current), a combination of power and sacrificial anodes (Hybrid), or sacrificial anodes alone (Galvanic). Each system is tailored to suit the structure's condition, environment, and operational requirements. Cathodic Protection is widely used in marine structures, bridges, tunnels, industrial facilities, and car parks to reduce maintenance costs, prevent deterioration, and extend asset service life.

Cathodic Prevention
Cathodic Prevention is a forward-thinking corrosion protection strategy applied during the early life of a structure or even at the time of construction. By implementing a controlled electrical current through embedded anode systems, this method proactively inhibits corrosion before it can begin. Unlike traditional cathodic protection, which responds to existing corrosion, Cathodic Prevention is designed to stop it from occurring at all.
